Amy Fogg

After graduating with a B.S. in Art Education from the University of Southwest Louisiana in 1999, Amy Fogg taught high school art for 6 years.  Within her years of teaching art she was inspired to paint larger than life flowers that focused on luscious colors and space within her composition.  This style of painting allowed Amy to develop her use of strong brushstrokes and bold line.

Beach life brought Amy inspiration to eventually move away from creating children’s artwork and to instead explore other mediums of art.  Such mediums include Amy creating colorful abstract paintings that use molding paste to create 3D textures while focusing on whimsical, playful brushstrokes.  Amy also creates 3D bird nests on canvas using a variety of materials.  Among the materials used to create her nests are: pine straw, seed beads, acrylics, bark and eggshells.

Currently, Amy has reentered the world of teaching at Destin’s Gateway Christian Academy where she inspires and teaches three to ten year old budding artists’ the elements and principles of ART.

The joys and challenges that life brings Amy are played out and portrayed through her work.  Amy feels the process of creating art is in itself gratifying and successful.   The end result is just an added blessing!
